Herbert Hoover exemplified the ideal of individualism and the self-made man. His expertise as a mining engineer made him a millionaire by age 40. Having been raised in the Quaker traditions of humanity and generosity, Hoover then embarked on a course of public service for the rest of his life.

The Visitor Center, Presidential Library and Museum, and historic buildings are open daily from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., except on Thanksgiving Day, December 25, and January 1.
The grounds of the historic site are open 24 hours.

Take exit 254 on Interstate 80 to West Branch, Iowa. The visitor center is 0.3 mile north of I-80. West Branch is 10 miles east of Iowa City, Iowa.
