Edged by a glistening stretch of the Missouri River, Sioux City historically played a pivotal role in Westward expansion with associated sights that today, along with river cruises and local hiking trails, draw in a steady stream of travelers.
This easy, if long, road is an excellent route in the spring - it's lined with wildflowers. The Furnace and Greenwater ghost towns are along this road. If you have a 4X4, continue on to Gold Valley.
