Description
Located in Washington State, just over the Oregon Border outside the Columbia River Gorge area, the mighty Wind River serves up some of the wildest water commercially run in the Pacific Northwest.
Continuous expert level rapids dominate the Wind, with large ledge drops, tight rock gardens and big hydraulics around every corner. Fed exclusively by underground springs, the Wind River’s season is long, lasting the entire rainy season into June.
Steep canyon walls surround the Wind as its waters plummet toward the Columbia, enhancing the wilderness feel of this river. Previous whitewater experience is required to run the expert waters of the Wind. The Wind is a short drive from Carson and Stevenson Washington and is 1 ½ hours by car from Portland, OR.
